LITTLE THINGS – Looking back on an exhibition full of hope
With the window exhibition KLEINIGKEITEN at the zentrum für kurze kunst (Center for Short Art), Georg Lesk ushered in spring 2025 with a poetic gesture: nine small-format oil paintings on 6 × 9 cm canvases, inspired by real wishes and hopes, invited visitors to reflect on positive visions of the future – entirely in the spirit of solarpunk.
The response was overwhelming: Many people stopped in front of the window, took their time, read, looked, and reflected. There were numerous conversations, a great deal of positive feedback—and even sales. The idea of making strangers' wishes visible and giving them form through art was touching and inspiring.
The exhibition was complemented by small magenta-colored figures that not only appeared in the window as symbolic visitors, but also appeared throughout Regensburg's urban space. They represented curiosity, compassion, participation—and the question: Would the fulfillment of these wishes really be such a big deal?
KLEINIGKEITEN has shown how much power lies in small formats, quiet thoughts, and shared hopes. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who watched and shared their thoughts - and to everyone who took home a little something.
