„Solarpunk Atelier: Art, Dialogue, and the Question of a Good Life“
An exhibition by Georg Lesk at Stadtlabor Amberg

From 4 to 9 November 2024, the Solarpunk Atelier at Stadtlabor Amberg presented a project exploring the question: "How can we combine sustainability, community, and joy in everyday life?" The exhibition blended existing works with a live painting process shaped by exchanges with visitors.

Art as a Process: Existing Works and New Ideas

Alongside a selection of already completed pieces, Georg Lesk worked on a new painting during the day. This piece evolved throughout the exhibition, incorporating ideas from conversations. A key element was a large sheet of paper on the wall, where visitors could share their ideas, wishes, and visions. These notes directly influenced the live painting, making the creative process visible to everyone.

An Exhibition thats a Thinktank

The atelier served as an open space for exchange. Visitors were invited to discuss sustainability, community, and a good life. Two guests contributed additional perspectives:

    Veganinundamberg explored sustainable nutrition and community gardens.
    Andi von der Falschen Farm shared experiences from ecological farming.

Conversations with the guests were live-streamed to include people beyond Amberg.

Solarpunk as a Mindset

Solarpunk sees sustainability not as deprivation but as an opportunity for a fulfilling life in harmony with nature and each other. The exhibition demonstrated how art and dialogue can make this idea tangible—by making processes visible and encouraging collective reflection on a livable future.
